Ipswich Town have recalled Tommy Smith from his loan spell at League One outfit Brentford.
The 19-year-old defender joined the Bees in January and made eight appearances during his time at Griffin Park.
However, the Tractor Boys have opted to bring him back to Portman Road after seeing Damian Delaney dismissed in their weekend win over Scunthorpe.
Roy Keane feels Smith has benefited from his time spent in the third tier and expects him to provide able cover if required.
"We have brought back Tommy as cover and we've got Pim (Balkestein) as well so we are not too bad for numbers," Keane told the club's official website.
"I was thinking of bringing him back anyway. He's been training with us and you can see he's benefited from going to Brentford because he's been playing games."
