Nemanja Vidic believes he and Rio Ferdinand have a special connection at the heart of Manchester United's defence.
The pair have looked solid in the Red Devils' last two games against Wolves and AC Milan, with Sir Alex Ferguson's side boasting clean sheets on both occasions.
And Vidic believes it is the communication and understanding that the pair seem to have grasped to list them amongst the strongest in the Premier League.
The Serbia international believes he and his team-mate are on the same wavelength having starred in United's back-four for the last four successful years.
"We understand each other," said Vidic. "We know all about each other.
"He knows how I will react in certain situations and it is the same the other way round.
"I know there is this feeling that I get all the knocks and Rio has the ball. But we both do both things and we can both be aggressive.
"I don't think my job is hard and his is easy."
Vidic admits it will take a team effort for United to achieve all of their targets this season.
"Communication between us all has been built up over a long time," he said.
"It is nice when you have an understanding. We know what each other is going to do."
Sir Alex Ferguson admits he is delighted with the return of both players as he prepares his strongest squad for the title run-in.
"Having them back is fantastic for us," said Ferguson.
"They were both brilliant on Wednesday (against Milan).
"It is definitely gives us a big chance because they bring us experience and consistency."
