Peter Crouch was delighted to continue his outstanding goalscoring record for England against Egypt.
Crouch came off the bench to score two goals on Wednesday and help Fabio Capello's side come from behind to seal a 3-1 win over Egypt.
The Man of the Match display is almost certain to have booked Crouch his seat on the plane to South Africa this summer, and he was pleased to have made an impact.
"Coming on at half-time you just try and make an impact and two goals capped that off nicely," Crouch told Sky Sports News.
Crouch now has 20 goals in just 37 appearances for the Three Lions and he admits he is very pleased with his international statistics.
"When I play in a team such as this, I always feel I am going to get chances because there is such quality in the midfield areas," he said.
"I am proud of my England goalscoring record and I want to continue that."
The Tottenham striker insists that he was happy to prove that he can score when coming off the bench.
"I think every player wants to start but when you come off the bench you want to make an impact," he said.
"The biggest impact you can make is scoring, but you just try and put yourself about and do your best for the team."
