Midfielder to see specialist over ankle ligament damage

Tottenham have been rocked by the news that Tom Huddlestone has suffered ankle ligament damage. Huddlestone picked up the problem when he was challenged by John Heitinga during Spurs' 2-1 victory over Everton on Sunday. The midfielder could not complete the match and left White Hart Lane in a protective boot. The extent of the injury has now become more clear and Huddlestone will next consult a specialist as he faces up to a period on the sidelines. "Scans have revealed that Tom Huddlestone has suffered damage to the ligaments in his right ankle," read a club statement. "The England international sustained the injury during Sunday's win over Everton and the player will now be seen by ankle specialists before deciding on the best course of rehabilitation."

Livermore

Huddlestone's injury has persuaded manager Harry Redknapp to recall Jake Livermore from his loan spell at Peterborough. Livermore linked up with Posh in January after spending the first half of the season with Derby. The 20-year-old's stay at London Road has now been cut short and he will provide midfield cover at Spurs.
