Celtic have announced that they will appeal the red card shown to captain Scott Brown in the 1-0 defeat to Old Firm rivals Rangers on Sunday.
With the scores level at 0-0, Brown was shown red for appearing to wrestle with Gers forward Kyle Lafferty with just 20 minutes of the second half played.
The sending-off did seem harsh on the 24-year-old with Lafferty certainly making the most of the incident as the Northern Irishman escaped any punishment.
Hoops players quickly surrounded referee Dougie McDonald to question the decision as Celtic boss Tony Mowbray tried to regroup his players.
However Mowbray, who claimed not to have seen the incident, insisted that he would not be trying to change Brown's combative nature despite the sending-off.
Ultimately Rangers substitute Maurice Edu popped up with the winner deep into stoppage-time to send Walter Smith's men 10 points clear at the top of the table and all but end Celtic's title hopes.
