Kris Boyd and Lee McCulloch have been recalled to the Scotland squad for Craig Levein's first game in charge, but Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor will not face Czech Republic.
Rangers duo Boyd and McCulloch both withdrew from the international arena during George Burley's ill-fated reign, but have declared themselves available for selection again following Levein's appointment.
McGregor, who was dropped from the Scotland set-up after last year's infamous 'Boozegate' affair, was also expected to be brought back into the fold.
But the goalkeeper has been left out amid reports he required hospital treatment for injuries sustained in an incident outside a Glasgow nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Rangers would not elaborate on McGregor's condition, with some reports claiming he suffered an eye injury which could rule him out of Sunday's Old Firm derby.
His place in the Scotland squad has instead gone to Ibrox team-mate Neil Alexander, although there is no return, as yet, for former Gers captain Ferguson.
The midfielder, now at Birmingham City, has been mulling over an international return, but has yet to make a decision after he was also axed as a result of the 'Boozegate' scandal.
Scotland are also in the same Euro 2012 qualification group as the Czechs and next Wednesday's friendly at Hampden Park will give the opposing coaches an early opportunity to size each other up.
Andy Webster was recalled, as expected, and the on-loan Rangers defender was joined by fellow Dundee United stoppers Garry Kenneth and Paul Dixon.
Bristol City midfielder Paul Hartley, 33, was recalled along with his team-mate Chris Iwelumo, who recently joined the Robins on loan from Wolves.
Among those omitted from the 24-man squad were Celtic defender Stephen McManus, who is on loan at Middlesbrough, and Cardiff striker Ross McCormack.
