Southend have taken former Bristol City winger Andre Blackman on trial.
The 19-year-old joined the Robins last summer but was released in October having made just two appearances in the Carling Cup.
Blackman featured for Southend's reserves against their Ipswich counterparts on Wednesday playing for 78 minutes.
Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson is likely to cast an eye over Blackman in training before deciding whether or not to offer him a deal at Roots Hall.
