Skysports.com understands Everton are facing a major battle to keep Steven Pienaar at Goodison Park.
The skilful midfielder has just over a year left on his current contract and no new deal has been agreed as yet.
The news has alerted a number of clubs to Pienaar's possible availability with the 27-year-old enjoying a fine season on Merseyside this term.
Pienaar has been a stand-out performer for David Moyes' side this season with a number of eye-catching showings and he has popped up with six goals from midfield to make himself a big fans' favourite with the Goodison Park faithful.
Bayern Munich are believed to be considering a move for the South African schemer as they look at possible replacements for Franck Ribery.
Manchester City are also thought to be keeping tabs on Pienaar's situation as they look to bring in established Premier League stars next season.
A number of top clubs in Spain and Italy are also understood to be tracking Pienaar and an impressive World Cup campaign in his homeland this summer will only increase interest.
Everton are keen to keep hold of Pienaar, but they would find it difficult to compete with other sides financially if the midfielder's suitors try to lure the former Ajax and Borussia Dortmund man away with lucrative long-term contract offers.
