Heurelho Gomes has voiced his frustration after Tottenham's 'most disappointing result of the season'.
Spurs slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Wolves on Wednesday evening as an early Dave Jones goal proved the difference between the sides.
Tottenham rarely threatened to get back into the game and subsequently missed the opportunity to reclaim fourth place.
Gomes recognises that Spurs, who also lost at home to Wolves, cannot keep dropping points in games they are expected to win.
"We lose a little bit of concentration for games like this," said the Brazilian goalkeeper.
"The best sides win these games and that makes the difference in the table."
Gomes believes Tottenham must improve considerably if they are to return to winning ways against Bolton in the Carling Cup.
"It was our most disappointing result of the season," he added in the London Evening Standard.
"Away from home, we normally play very well but not in this game. We were poor.
"We had just one chance to score in the first half and in the second half we created nothing.
"It was a difficult day but we have to forget about it and concentrate on Sunday's match against Bolton in the FA Cup."
