Christian Benitez is hoping that Birmingham City will sign him on a permanent basis.
The Ecuadorian international joined in the summer on loan from Santos Laguna with a view to a £9million permanent deal.
Benitez has become a firm fans' favourite and has proved a tremendous foil for Cameron Jerome.
"I'm happy here. I can only concentrate on what I'm doing at the moment. If I'm asked to stay, I'd be very happy," he said.
Blues chief Alex McLeish, who is preparing his side to face Wolves on Sunday, admits the club are thinking over Benitez's future.
"We have a decision to make in May," said McLeish.
"I like Christian as a player. He's not been prolific, but his assists have been absolutely tremendous."
