Ribery: Set for contract talks
Franck Ribery will hold talks with Bayern Munich in March, but admits his future remains up in the air.
The France international has been the subject of heated discussion for months, with speculation that he could be on the move in the summer intensifying by the day.
With his current contract at Allianz Arena set to expire in 2011, Bayern have admitted that they would be prepared to do business at the end of the season if an extension is not agreed.
They remain optimistic regarding their chances of convincing Ribery to remain in Germany, but have yet to get anything down on paper.
Talks regarding a new deal will resume in the spring, when a decision will be made one way or the other, but the outcome of those discussions remains increasingly difficult to call.
With the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City all reported to be monitoring Ribery's situation, the 26-year-old playmaker admits he has some difficult decisions to make over the coming months.
"I believe I will know what is going to happen in March," he told France Football.
"I want to know what my future will be. I want to go to the World Cup without this issue weighing on my mind.
"I know my representatives are open to anything and they are prepared to meet with me whenever I want. It is up to me to tell them what I want to do.
"The possibility of an extension at Bayern exists. I just want to play for a competitive team that will offer me the best possible opportunity to win titles.
"That could be Bayern or it could be someone else. I will be 27 in April and I am reaching an important stage of my career. I cannot afford to make a mistake."
Ribery is well aware of the mounting interest in services, but insists no deal has been put in place with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
He added: "Was there a deal agreed with Real when they sold Arjen Robben to Bayern? No. I have not signed with any other club.
"I had lots of opportunities to do so last summer, with Real, Barcelona, Chelsea or Manchester.
"I hope to be given the same opportunity by Bayern, but we will know more in the spring."
