Gillingham boss Mark Stimson has confirmed he is considering offering a trial to former Crystal Palace striker Charlie Sheringham.
The 21-year-old has been catching the eye in non-league football since being released by Championship side Palace two years ago.
He has been scoring regularly for Bishop's Stortford in the Blue Square South this season after previously impressing at Welling.
The son of former England attacker Teddy Sheringham could now be offered the chance to prove he can cut it at League One level with Gillingham.
"I've seen Charlie play a lot and he is a good player at that level," Stimson told Kent Online.
"There was a possibility he was going to come here and do some training, but with the games being postponed and the facilities not being available, it didn't materialise.
"Whether that will happen in the next couple of months, who knows?
"Whether he will suit this division yet I'm not sure, but we are interested in him."
