Coventry chairman Ray Ranson has insisted he did not put a £3million valuation on Keiren Westwood.
The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper has revealed that it was not a surprise to him that he stayed at the Ricoh Arena during the transfer window.
However, there had been a lot of speculation about his future and several Premier League clubs were thought to be tracking his situation.
Tottenham reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to sign to sign him but Ranson has denied putting a price tag on the talented shot-stopper.
"I want to put the record straight," Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph.
"I never put a price tag on Keiren Westwood and I have never quoted any price to any club. That is not my style.
"I didn't quote any figures to Tottenham. They made an enquiry and they were turned down and that's it."
Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman added: "We got the call at about quarter to or 10 to five and it was never going to happen."
