Skysports.com understands that Sunderland are set to allow Nyron Nosworthy to leave the Stadium of Light on loan before the transfer window closes.
The 29-year-old defender, who can play full-back or in the centre, was linked with a move away from Wearside earlier this month - but Black Cats boss Steve Bruce vetoed his exit as he was involved in the first-team.
Bruce has now decided that he can leave on loan - following the signing of Matt Kilgallon.
Now a number of clubs are taking a keen interest in taking Nosworthy, with Sheffield United leading the chasing pack.
However, it is believed there is also Premier League interest and the player could have a number of options to choose from before the window closes on Monday.
