Skysports.com understands St Johnstone have lodged a bid for Morecambe defender Will Haining.
The SPL outfit are on the look-out for defensive reinforcements and have earmarked Glasgow-born Haining as a possible signing.
Haining returned to England in the summer having spent the past two seasons up in Scotland with St Mirren.
He was released at the expiration of his Buddies deal and pitched up at Championship side Blackpool on trial.
While he failed to land a deal at Bloomfield Road he has since impressed in League Two with Morecambe.
His form south of the border has caught the eye of Saints boss Derek McInnes, with Morecambe now mulling over an offer from their SPL counterparts.
