Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that Newcastle United have signed defender Fitz Hall on loan until the end of the season.
Skysports.com revealed on Thursday that the 29-year-old was set to leave Loftus Road in January and that has now become reality.
Hall, who joined QPR in 2008, was a target for Magpies boss Chris Hughton as he wanted to further strengthen his defence after the signing of Mike Williamson.
A number of clubs were also credited with an interest in Hall but Newcastle, who have already signed Wayne Routledge from QPR, have won the race.
Hughton's side sit top of the Championship and travel to play-off-chasing Leicester on Saturday.
