Skysports.com understands Stockport defender Johnny Mullins is being tracked by a number of clubs further up the Football League.
The highly-rated right-back has impressed despite Stockport's struggles and has been watched by both Doncaster and Plymouth.
Mullins began his career at Reading before joining Mansfield in 2006, where he earned a moved to Edgeley Park two years' later.
Financially-stricken Stockport would be loath to lose Mullins but would struggle to turn down any significant offer for his services.
Both Doncaster and Plymouth are known to be interested in adding to their defensive ranks but it remains to be seen whether a firm bid will be lodged before the close of the January transfer window.
