West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has indicated that Robert Koren will not be sold during the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old midfielder was frustrated by a lack of first-team football earlier in the season.
This led the Slovenia international to previously state that he would look to leave The Hawthorns in the New Year to safeguard his place in his national squad ahead of the World Cup.
But Koren is now back in the Baggies side following a hernia operation and West Brom boss Di Matteo insists he never wanted to sell the player.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "I never wanted to sell him.
"He wanted to play on a regular basis, that was the situation.
"We were going to review it, but he's not been to see me so there are no problems.
"It wasn't because I don't like him, it was because we were doing well the way we were playing at the time he was injured.
"I've always rated him as a very good player. Obviously he wants to play week in, week out. At the moment he's in the team and is playing well."
