Sampdoria manager Luigi Del Neri has denied having a bust-up with star striker Antonio Cassano.
The 27-year-old forward has been left out of Samp's squad that will travel to Udinese on Sunday amid speculation linking him with a move away from Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Cassano was in fine form earlier in the season as Sampdoria began the campaign well and were gunning down Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
However, since then the controversial forward has only scored three times in the last 11 games for his club as the Blucerchiati have slid down the table.
But manager Del Neri claims there has been no row, saying: "Cassano has not been picked due to a technical choice.
"There's been no dispute, away from home I need more effort and less flair.
"We've spoken and I explained my ideas to him but there was no argument, we had a serious conversation between two men.
"I want forwards who know how to press. It's a normal selection for a coach and normal for a player to accept it, as has happened."
