Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins has dismissed speculation linking goalkeeper Joe Murphy with a move away from the club.
Murphy was left out of Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Cardiff City despite returning to fitness after a shoulder injury.
His omission prompted speculation that the highly-rated Republic of Ireland keeper could be on the move before the close of the transfer window.
However, Adkins has described such suggestions as 'nonsense' and insists Murphy understood his decision to stick with Josh Lillis in goal.
"Some people just want to put two and two together," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph. "Where all this speculation has come from, I do not know. It is just nonsense.
"Joe is still 100 per cent committed to this football club and what we are trying to achieve.
"Of course he was disappointed to be left out, because he is a passionate guy and, the same as every other player, he wants to play in every game.
"But Josh (Lillis) had done well in the two games before and Joe understood the decision I made to leave him in the side."
