Middlesbrough have handed a trial to NEC Nijmegen's Angola international Dominique Kivuvu.
The Amsterdam-born midfielder has been with Nijmegen since 2006 after signing from Stormvogels.
However, his current deal is set to expire in the summer and he has told NEC that he will not be signing a new deal.
The club have now allowed Kivuvu to travel to England to and undertake a seven-day trial with Middlesbrough.
Kivuvu, who failed to make Angola's squad for the African Cup of Nations, has played 11 times in the Eredivisie so far this term.
