Scunthorpe United midfielder Grant McCann has expressed his frustration at the lack of news regarding a new contract.

McCann's current deal expires at the end of the season and he is waiting to learn whether he will be offered new terms at Glanford Park.

The Northern Ireland international admits several of his team-mates are in a similar situation as he looks to prolong his time with the Iron.

"Nothing has really been said about contracts to anybody," McCann told the Scunthorpe Telegraph. "There have been no contracts put on the table for any of us.

"There's nothing we can do. It is a little bit frustrating because you just want to know what is going to happen with you.

"We've just got to knuckle down and hopefully we will be offered contracts, whether that be here or if not, we will have to see what happens after January.

"All the lads want to stay at Scunthorpe. We got this club promoted again after it had been relegated and we want to stay in this league with this club.

"I just hope it's sorted sooner rather than later because everyone wants to get on with their football at the club. We just want to do well for Scunthorpe."
