Former Derby County midfielder Giles Barnes is now training with West Bromwich Albion after a trial spell at Birmingham City.
Barnes is on the look-out for a new club after being released by Derby last month and he has been training with Birmingham in recent weeks.
However, Blues boss Alex McLeish has confirmed the 22-year-old has moved on to train with local rivals West Brom.
"Giles has left us," said McLeish.
"He had a lot of other options and is now training with West Brom.
"We wish him all the best."
Barnes has not played a first-team game for almost a year due to injury, which hampered a spell on loan at Fulham last season.
