Preston midfielder Paul Parry faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee problem.
The 29-year-old first showed signs of the complaint when he was substituted during the 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United at the end of December.
He subsequently missed North End's FA Cup third-round thrashing of Colchester and new North End boss Darren Ferguson expects Parry to be missing for several weeks.
"Paul Parry may be out for a month or so and he will be a miss," Ferguson told the club's official website.
"It leaves us a bit light because we haven't got the biggest of squads and we have got lots of games coming up.
"He will be seeing the specialist though so we'll get an idea of what timescale he will be missing for."
