Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that striker Sam Vokes will not leave the club during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old has just returned to Molineux following a three-month loan spell at Leeds, and McCarthy is keen to hold on to the Wales international, with strike duo Stefan Maierhofer and Andy Keogh both injured.
The Wolves boss told the Express & Star: "There's no chance of him going back out on loan at the minute, because I've got Stefan Maierhofer needing a hernia operation and Andy Keogh out for weeks.
"It will be a couple of months before we see Andy back playing again. He's progressing nicely."
Vokes found his appearances limited with League One leaders Leeds, scoring just once in eight games, but McCarthy insists the youngster has been rejuvenated by his spell at Elland Road.
He continued: "Sam Vokes has come back and he looks two yards quicker, and that's what you get from playing first-team football.
"We all know it's beneficial for them to get that and to go out and play, and Sam's looked excellent."
