Carlisle confirm Pericard exit

Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott has revealed he is interested in bringing Joe Garner back to the club. Abbott is now on the lookout for a new front-man after he confirmed Vincent Pericard was leaving. Skysports.com revealed that Pericard, who was on a short-term deal at Brunton Park after joining late last year, was leaving Cumbria. "We can confirm that Vincent has turned down our offer as he wants to try his luck elsewhere," said Abbott. "He came in and did a great job for us but he decided that he wanted to keep his options open when we initially started to talk to him. "We made what we thought was a great offer and the club has done everything that it can to keep him here beyond the end of the current deal. However, he has made his decision and all we can do now is move on. He is a fantastic lad and we wish him all the very best," added Abbott. Now Abbott is ready to try and lure Garner back to the club. The 21-year-old joined Forest from Carlisle in 2008, but he is now way down the pecking order at the City Ground. "Joe Garner is one of a lengthy list of players who, should they become available, we would be interested in," said Abbott.
