Birmingham City have recalled defender Krystian Pearce from a loan spell at Peterborough.

The 20-year-old joined the Posh on a season-long agreement in July, but has seen that contract cut short.

Having made just five appearances for the Championship club over the first half of the 2009/10 campaign, Birmingham have decided that the youngster would be best advised to look elsewhere.

Pearce's last outing for Peterborough came in their 5-2 Carling Cup defeat at the end of October, and he is yet to get a look-in under new boss Mark Cooper.

The youngster, who is a product of the academy structure at St Andrews, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues, and is unlikely to be drafted into the first-team fold any time soon with the club riding high in the Premier League table.

That means he could be sent out on loan once more, with spells at Notts County, Port Vale and Scunthorpe taken in over recent years.
