Town target Rams stopper

Keane eyes McEveley move

McEveley: Out of contract in summer understands Ipswich are weighing up a raid on Championship rivals Derby for Jay McEveley.

Ipswich boss Roy Keane is keen to bolster his defence and he could make a move for McEveley in this month's transfer window.

McEveley's contract expires in the summer and, although talks are underway over a new deal, no agreement has been reached between both parties as yet.

Derby could be tempted to sell McEveley for the right price this month rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer.

Keane is hoping to persuade the Scotland international to make the move to Portman Road by offering him a long-term deal and his versatility makes him an attractive proposition to the Town boss.
