Didier Deschamps is confident an agreement will be reached with Inter Milan winger Mancini in the next few days.
The Marseille boss has stated his intention to bring the Brazilian to France on loan until the end of the season.
With the 29-old-currently out of favour at Giuseppe Meazza, there appears to be little preventing a deal from being struck.
That has given Deschamps cause for optimism and he hopes to have the former Roma man on board by the time Marseille travel to table-topping Bordeaux on 23rd January.
"Negotiations are continuing," the French coach told his club's official website.
"They are going forward, as the president has already revealed, but it is not going to be easy to reach an agreement.
"It's possible that it could be done over the next few days, if everything goes as planned."
