Skysports.com understands Carlisle defender Peter Murphy is a target for a number of clubs in this month's transfer window.
Murphy joined the Cumbrians from Blackburn Rovers in 2001 and has made in excess of 300 appearances for the League One side.
The 29-year-old is understood to be considering moving on after failing to hold down a regular place in Greg Abbott's side this season
Shrewsbury are understood to have failed in a move to sign the Republic of Ireland cap in the last loan transfer window and they could rekindle their interest in the player this month.
A host of other sides are believed to be monitoring Murphy's situation at Brunton Park and Carlisle could decide to cash-in on him for the right offer.
