Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee has confirmed the club have agreed a new deal with Richard Foster.

Foster's existing contract had been set to expire at the end of the season, meaning he was free to leave in the summer.

However, McGhee has now confirmed the 24-year-old has agreed terms as previously revealed by skysports.com.

McGhee believes Foster has been one of his most consistent performers and is delighted his will commit his future to Pittodrie.

Deal

"We have agreed a deal with Foster and I expect him to sign before the game against Hearts on Saturday," explained McGhee.

"Foster is a lot better on the ball than I realised before I came here.

"He is very good in the air for his size and in the last two months he has been our most consistent player.

"I am thrilled he's staying as I think he will be really important for the way I see this team developing in the future."
