Hull striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink insists he is not preoccupied with thoughts of making the Holland squad for the World Cup.
The Dutch international, a member of the Netherlands squad at Euro 2008, had hoped that his move to the KC Stadium last summer would improve his chances of making the grade for South Africa.
But he has failed to make an impact since his move to the Premier League and has only managed one start in the last 10 games in all competitions, scoring just twice this season.
Vennegoor of Hesselink has been capped 17 times by Holland, making the last two major tournaments, but has recently fallen down the international pecking order.
"Let's focus first on what is at Hull and all the things that come later are a bonus," he said.
"I have not been selected for a long period but I am not thinking about that now.
"I just want to perform with Hull and anything that comes after that is a bonus."
The former Celtic, PSV and FC Twente forward will be hoping to play a part in the Tigers' league game against Chelsea on Saturday.
