Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane is keen to send defender Tommy Smith and midfielder Liam Trotter out on loan.
Smith has recently returned to fitness after suffering a broken bone in his hand and needs games to recover full match sharpness.
Trotter, who spent last season on loan at Grimsby and Scunthorpe, has fallen down the pecking order at Portman Road over recent months and would benefit from a spell playing regularly elsewhere.
Keane said: "Tommy and Liam could be going out on loan.
"They have been thinking about it over the weekend but they need games and I think it will be a positive move.
"It will be a good chance for them to play some football. One or two clubs have come in for them."
