Jamie Ward's agent has hit back at claims by Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell that he has been trying to engineer a new deal for the player.
The Northern Ireland international's representative, Gino Culbertson, has claimed the club had promised to sit down and discuss a new improved deal with the striker at the end of the year as reward for his progress.
Blackwell was unhappy at the comments from Culbertson, accusing him of trying to force the club into offering highly-rated Ward new terms to keep him at Bramall Lane.
Culbertson is disappointed by Blackwell's attack on him and remains hopeful a new deal can be agreed to suit all parties.
"I am very disappointed with the comments from Kevin," Culbertson told skysports.com. "It is not an agent issue, that is absolutely not the case.
"The bottom line is we want him [Blackwell] to honour an agreement made with both Jamie and myself a few months ago to renegotiate his contract at the end of this year
"I reiterate that Jamie is very happy at Sheffield United and I hope we can all agree an amicable solution to this."
