Skysports.com understands QPR captain Mikele Leigertwood has agreed a new deal at Loftus Road.
Leigertwood's existing contract was due to expire at the end of the season and a number of clubs were thought to be monitoring his situation.
Rangers have moved to keep the influential midfielder and have tied down Leigertwood to a three-year extension.
Leigertwood has established himself as a key player at Loftus Road since his arrival from Sheffield United in 2007.
The 27-year-old is expected to put pen-to-paper on his new deal in the next few weeks and the news will come as a massive boost to Rangers boss Paul Hart.
