Coventry City have agreed a deal to extend Jack Cork's loan, but Patrick van Aanholt is going back to Chelsea.
Cork and Van Aanholt have spent the first half of the season on loan at the Ricoh Arena from Chelsea and Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman wanted to keep the duo for the remainder of the campaign.
However, while the Premier League leaders have allowed the versatile Cork to stay with Coventry, Dutch full-back Van Aanholt has been recalled to Stamford Bridge.
"It's good news about Jack, but unfortunately they want Patrick back," Coleman told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"We've got to say a big thank you to Chelsea and Patrick for what he's done for us.
"We've enjoyed working with him - he's been a good professional who has worked very hard and I think he's improved as a player since he's been with us."
Van Aanholt has made 20 appearances during his time with the Championship club, with his final outing coming in Monday's 2-0 defeat at in-form Nottingham Forest.
