Skysports.com understands a trio of Championship clubs are ready to battle it out with Rochdale to sign Chris O'Grady.
The striker has impressed during the first half of the season on loan at Rochdale from Oldham Athletic and has scored 12 goals in 21 League Two appearances.
Dale are determined to hang on to the forward and are hoping to put together a deal to sign O'Grady on a permanent basis.
Oldham have previously ruled out a loan extension for the 23-year-old and there have been reports that Dale lack the funds to sign O'Grady in the long term.
And even if the League Two leaders can come up with a package to capture O'Grady, there is likely to be competition for his signature.
Championship trio Derby County, Peterborough United and Scunthorpe United are all keeping tabs on O'Grady following his exploits so far this term.
