Derby County boss Nigel Clough is waiting for a decision on James Vaughan and is also hoping to keep Leicester City duo Paul Dickov and DJ Campbell.

Vaughan had a brief spell on loan with the Rams earlier in the season, but was forced to return to Everton due to a knee injury.

He has now regained fitness and the striker has featured as a late substitute in Everton's last two Premier League fixtures.

Clough wants to bring the youngster back to Pride Park in the New Year, but is unsure if Everton are willing to let Vaughan leave on loan again.

And the Rams chief is also holding talks with local rivals Leicester regarding extensions for Dickov and Campbell, with the strike pair due to play the final game of their current loan spells against Newcastle on Monday.

"We have made calls and are trying to get loans lined up," Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph. "There are one or two we are hopeful of.

"We are still working on Paul Dickov and DJ Campbell and their situation at Leicester.

"We are still waiting to hear from Everton about James Vaughan."
