Barnsley have agreed a deal with Stoke City to extend the loans of Carl Dickinson and Ryan Shotton until the end of the season.
Both players have made 13 Championship appearances for the Tykes since moving to Oakwell at the end of September.
The defensive duo's initial loans have expired, meaning Dickinson and Shotton are unavailable for Monday's game at home to Middlesbrough.
However, Barnsley boss Mark Robins has revealed the Potters pair will return to the club once the transfer window reopens.
"I'm absolutely delighted that Tony Pulis has allowed Carl to stay with us until the end of the season," said Robins in the Sheffield Star.
"He has done very, very well for us and has got better with every game he's played.
"Ryan has also done fantastically well for us this year and we are delighted to keep him here."
