Skysports.com understands Leicester are set to extend the loan stay of Ryan McGivern until the end of the season.
McGivern, who joined Leicester from Manchester City in August, is due to return to Eastlands next month.
However, Leicester have moved to try and keep the Northern Ireland international at the Walkers Stadium for the remainder of the campaign.
Manchester City are understood to be willing to let McGivern to stay out on loan so that he can continue getting valuable first-team experience under his belt.
McGivern has made seven appearances for Nigel Pearson's side so far this term and he will remain at the club as they look to maintain their push for promotion.
