Skysports.com understands Peterborough are lining up a move for Bournemouth hot-shot Brett Pitman.
Pitman has established himself as one of the best young strikers in the country following his goalscoring exploits for the Cherries.
The 21-year-old has netted 13 goals so far this season and his form has attracted interest from clubs higher up the league.
The likes of Plymouth and Bristol Rovers have been credited with an interest in Pitman and now Peterborough have joined the chase for the highly-rated forward.
Peterborugh are in the market for a new striker after failing to bring in a frontman before the close of the loan transfer window and they also need a replacement for Aaron Mclean after he handed in a transfer request.
Bournemouth are readying themselves for a battle to keep hold of Pitman when the transfer window reopens next month as they look to maintain their push for promotion.
