Spanish full-back Jose Enrique has revealed he hopes to finish his career with Newcastle United.
It had been thought the former Villarreal man could quit the club after being linked with Liverpool and Sunderland.
Newcastle shelled out £6.5million for his services in 2007 but he was unable to prevent the Magpies being relegated out of the Premier League in 2009.
However, the Spaniard admits he is now settled in the North East of England and would be happy signing for life.
"I'm very happy here," he told the Sunday Mirror. "I am only interested in Newcastle, not any other team.
"I have this season and then another two on my contract. I hope to stay here.
"My family is very happy here, and if it is possible to finish my career at Newcastle I would be very happy."
