Rovers star battling calf injury

Blackburn midfielder David Dunn is unsure if he will be fit to face Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday. Dunn has missed Rovers' last three league matches with a calf strain and could return to play Spurs at Ewood Park. However, the 29-year-old, who has scored six goals so far this season, says his long-term fitness must take precedence over an immediate return. "The rehabs coming on pretty well," he said. "(I've had) a few little setbacks but probably more so of trying to get back, and just get back in the fold and get back in the team and try and get on that scoresheet as much as I can. "It's coming on well and hopefully I'll be back soon. "I'm not sure (if I'll be back against Spurs). Hopefully, but we'll just have to see how the next few days go. "Hopefully it comes on well. The important thing is long term to stay as fit as I can. "I've played 14, 15 games on the bounce now so that's really positive for myself, so I've got to keep doing that. "So I don't want this niggly little injury keeping me out for too long but having said that it needs to be right and to progress in the right way." Blackburn team-mate Brett Emerton is also currently sidelined but he does not think his knock is too serious. The Australian picked up a thigh injury in the defeat against Birmingham on Tuesday but is only expected to miss a few weeks of action. He said: "It's still awaiting the results (of a scan) but it doesn't feel too bad, hopefully not too serious. "I'll possibly miss maybe a week or two of action then get back playing again."
