Jensen gives up on Danish dream

Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen is resigned to missing out on Denmark's World Cup squad.

Keeper not expecting call for South Africa

Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen admits there is more chance of Peter Schmeichel coming out of retirement than there is of him getting a call-up to Denmark's World Cup squad. Jensen has enjoyed an impressive season to date at Turf Moor and he has been one of the main factors behind Burnley's success in their first campaign in the Premier League. The 34-year-old has yet to win a cap for Denmark and the closest he has come to representing his country was when he was put on standby earlier this season. Jensen is resigned to missing out on making the trip to South Africa this summer despite his success at Burnley. "I've been over there on standby, so I know the door's not totally shut," said Jensen. "But there's probably more chance of Peter Schmeichel coming out of retirement then there is of me getting in. "But it's not my decision, it's national team manager Morten Olsen's. "I'll just try and do my best for Burnley."
