Martin O'Neill believes his England World Cup hopefuls are helping to propel Aston Villa's top-four ambitions.
Villa moved into the UEFA Champions League places over the weekend after ending a 26-year wait for victory at Old Trafford with a 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Ashley Young's cross provided the opportunity for Gabriel Agbonlahor to head home and both players are looking to force their way into the England squad.
Stephen Warnock and Stewart Downing are also hoping to join Villa team-mates James Milner and Emile Heskey as regulars in Fabio Capello's plans.
Villa boss O'Neill is delighted with the form of his England contenders and expects it to have a positive impact on his club's aspirations.
"We've some players who are England hopefuls," said O'Neill. "This was James Milner's third game starting in centre midfield and he has been fantastic.
"Stewart Downing has had three games in quick succession and will be a good player when fully fit.
"We also have Gaby and Heskey, all desperate to be on a flight to South Africa.
"I want them to be propelled by that ambition for our benefit.
"If they continue to play like they did at United, there is opportunity there for Fabio Capello."
