Simon Gillett remains happy to stay at Doncaster Rovers after extending his loan deal from Southampton.
The midfielder has made eight appearances since joining Rovers in October and will now stay with the Championship club until early January.
Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll revealed earlier in the week that talks are taking place with Southampton regarding a permanent deal for the 24-year-old.
Gillett is enjoying his time at the Keepmoat Stadium and confirmed he would be open to signing a long-term contract with Rovers.
"It's been brilliant since I've been here," Gillett told the club's official website.
"I've been involved in a lot of games for the first team. The lads have been very welcoming and I have certainly enjoyed my football. As a team, we play really good football.
"We've extended the loan until 4th January, which gives me a bit more time and I can play more games and have ongoing talks with the club.
"I'm certainly open to the idea of coming here permanently. I've enjoyed my time here a lot and I would be more than happy to extend my time here, whether it is permanently or a longer loan - whatever happens. I'd be happy to stay."
