Frederic Kanoute is hoping Sevilla will be drawn against Lyon in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
The Mali international began his career with the French giants in the late 1990s and the club still holds a special place in his heart.
Spells at West Ham, Tottenham and now Sevilla have followed since he left France, but Kanoute would welcome the opportunity to head back to the land of his birth.
"I want to play Olympique Lyon," said the 32-year-old frontman.
"I have no fear of a French club. For me it would allow me to go home and to play at a venue where I began my football career."
Meanwhile, Serbian defender Ivica Dragutinovic is hoping Sevilla will be handed Russian opposition in the knockout stages.
"For me the best team to play would be CSKA Moscow," he said.
"In February they will be in their pre-season and that could prove to be an advantage for the other team."
