Real Sociedad goalkeeper Asier Riesgo has been handed a trial with Tottenham, the Spanish club have confirmed.
White Hart Lane boss Harry Redknapp has been looking for further back-up with Carlo Cudicini out for the rest of the season following his motorcycle accident.
Riesgo will head to North London for a trial spell and, if he impresses Redknapp and his coaching staff, will be brought in as cover for No.1 Heurelho Gomes.
The 26-year-old former Spain Under-21 international spent last season on loan at Recreativo Huelva before returning to Segunda Division club Sociedad.
"Asier will train next week with Tottenham," read a statement from Sociedad.
Redknapp will be expected to make a decision on whether he wants to sign Riesgo but no fee has been agreed between the two clubs at the moment.
The Spurs boss has already ruled Cudicini out for the remainder of the campaign after he suffered injuries to his pelvis and wrists in a crash last month.
