Spanish playmaker could be lured abroad next summer

Francisco Yeste has admitted that he could be tempted to leave Spain next summer as a free agent. The 29-year-old will see his current contract at Athletic Bilbao expire at the end of the 2009/10 campaign. With fresh terms yet to be agreed, there is every chance the midfielder could be on his way out of San Mames in the not too distant future. Yeste has already spurned one offer from Bilbao, with wages reported to be the sticking point, and claims he would have no problem with walking away from the club. He insists he would not join another Primera Liga side, but has revealed that he would be open to offers from abroad. He said: "If I can't come to an agreement with Bilbao I would go abroad." Bilbao are keen to avoid losing Yeste for nothing and could be willing to do business during the January transfer window. Premier League outfit Sunderland are reported to have expressed an interest in the talented playmaker, but it remains to be seen whether they will be prepared to match Bilbao's valuation.
