Jonathan Woodgate has not given up hope of making England's World Cup squad.
The 29-year-old central defender completed only his second full 90-minutes of the season on Sunday, as Spurs thrashed Wigan 9-1.
Whilst Jermain Defoe grabbed the headlines and no doubt the attention of England boss Fabio Capello, Woodgate has also not given up hope of catching the eye of the Italian - but admits a recall is unlikely.
"I've got no chance. I haven't given up. But I don't train all the time, as well, and he (Capello) likes people who train every day, so, we'll see what happens," Woodgate told the Daily Mirror.
Woodgate has backed Defoe to make a big impact for England next summer.
"JD can do anything he wants to do," he said.
"Fabio Capello seems to have a lot of faith in him and he's been outstanding, he can make a massive impact in the World Cup, without a doubt."
